When we hit our 30s, life got a bit intense. The pressures of careers, relationships, parenthood, and more set the backdrop for a new exploration. Like others, we wanted to reconnect with our sense of play. In tandem, we were exploring our own redefinitions of culture and identity. As second-generation Asian Canadians, we found ourselves searching for our stories and feeling a little lost.

That’s when jigsaw puzzles started finding their way into our home. They told stories we were more than familiar with, yet had no personal connection to: lofty castles, Parisian alleyways, or an evening at a quiet cottage. We began searching for puzzles we could connect to, and started to also wonder if they even existed! What we found was a puzzle industry tailored to a market that we didn’t fit into. 

Maybe it's time for this to change.
