An artist inspired by identity, connection, colour — and the beautiful feeling of finding where you belong.
A little about Emily
Based in Costa Rica, Emily is a lifelong student of creativity and curiosity. When she’s not painting or drawing, you might find her skateboarding, weaving, learning something new, or simply being a student of life.

Behind the puzzle: the story of Chosen Family
Chosen Family began as artwork for a public transit billboard campaign exploring the idea of — you guessed it — chosen family. As a queer Thai Korean American, Emily wanted to bring her two cultures together in a way she hadn’t experienced in real life. Her androgynous characters also challenge the gender binary she often feels caught between.

“For me, this piece is both a safe space and a celebration of all my identities — and the people closest to me — together as my chosen family.”
— Emily Ramai
The why

“I hope my artwork helps viewers feel a sense of belonging and a little less alone in this world. I also hope people feel tickled and excited by my color choices.”
— Emily Ramai
Emily’s Good Fortune picks
When she’s not working on her own puzzles, these are the ones Emily has her eye on:

- Ultimate Anti-Work Party by 航滑 HangZhou
